National "the 9th five-year" key project, the first project of coal industry in the country of actualization for coal transforming into gas on site-----the first phase coal gasification project of Henan Gas Group successfully passed national acceptance on August 12 and was put into production.

    According to the introduction of the deputy director of provincial coal industry administration, Chen Dangyi, it was the first coal chemical project that was put into production in Henan, marking the development of Henan coal chemical industry has stepped to a new stage.

    Including Yima Gasification Factory, Yima –Zhenzhou gas pipeline and coal gas transport and distribution pipe net of cities along the line, Henan coal gasification project was established with Australia governmental loan and domestic supporting fund. Its total budgetary investment amounts to 1,902 billion, the designing production scale is 1,200,000 cubic meters of daily output and the united annual output of methanol is 50000 tons. It is a large scale project that integrates social, environmental and economic benefits.

    The project was started construction from April 1997, succeeded in commissioning testing February 2001 and began to transport gas to the long pipeline. Up to now, the accumulative total for city gas transport is 0.85 billion cubic meters and has solved the gas using problem of almost 100000 families, 18 large-scale industrial enterprises and more than 350 commercial and service enterprises, along the line of Zhenzhou, Luoyang and Yima.

    As an environmental project, the first phase of this project will decrease 18,600 tons of soot, sulfur dioxide 30500 tons and carbon monoxide 4600 tons that may emits into the air, with great significance for improving atmosphere quality in west Henan regions.

    Meanwhile the major economic index of Henan Coal Gas Group steps to a higher stage every year, the city coal gas output increased from 4630000 cubic meters in 2001 to 0.28 billion cubic meters in 2005, the sales revenue increased from 11,810,000 yuan to 470 million yuan and made up the deficits and got surpluses in 2005. In the first half of this year, We manufactured coal gas 140 million cubic meters, methanol 64000 tons with sales revenue 290 million yuan, and among which, profit and tax was 23880000 yuan and increased 59% than the same of last year.

    According to information, the second phase of the provincial coal gasification project launched in 2004 will put into preproduction phase before the end of September. At the appointed time, the daily net coal gas production capacity of Henan coal gas will reach 2400000 cubic meters and the annual united production of methanol will reach 200000 tons.
